Reducing Anxiety

Dear Friend,

It’s time to put yourself back in the driver’s seat of your life. Anxiety which leads to poor mental health is a serious subject, and it should never be taken lightly. Over the next few minutes, I’m going to share with you how you can attack one of the major contributors to anxiety.

Your stress, worry, and fears should never dictate how you should live your life ever again… And you can conquer these feelings, WITHOUT taking any medication to “temporarily” ease your mind.

First, you need to understand that the key to feeling calm and collected and not “lost in your head” is to master what some doctors call “your second brain.”

Listen: there is no one simple cure for anxiety. There are a lot of different variables that lead to it, it takes more than one chance to get rid of anxiety for good.

Most people don’t “get” how reducing the effects plays a MAJOR role in how the rest of their body function, and more importantly, your mind functions

When you’re feeling anxious, you might feel stuck and unsure of how to feel better. You might even do things that unwittingly fuel your anxiety. You might hyperfocus on the future, and get carried away by a slew of what-ifs. How do you reduce your anxiety right now?

  1. Take a deep breath: When anxious, our breath becomes rapid and shallow. Deep breathing helps decrease anxiety by stimulating the body’s relaxation response. It’s a powerful technique that works because you can’t breathe deeply and be anxious at the same time.

  2. Accept that you are anxious: Remember that “anxiety is just a feeling, like any other feeling,”. Accepting your anxiety doesn’t mean liking it or putting yourself to a miserable existence. “It just means you would benefit by accepting reality as it is — and at that moment, reality includes anxiety. The bottom line is that the feeling of anxiety is less than ideal, but it is not intolerable.”

  3. Distract Yourself: If you’re feeling anxious, try a distraction technique. Anything that redirects your attention away from distressing thoughts or emotions. Distractions work because your brain can’t be in two places at once, and shifting your attention to any activity will interrupt a string of racing thoughts.

Let’s do this together! Follow these simple steps and get yourself back and active.
